The Oklahoma State Capital is gorgeous! It’s free to visit and open on the weekends. There’s even a self guided museum on the first floor. The colors of the inside of the dome represent the state flour and the blue Oklahoma sky. The monument on top of the building os referenced as the guardian. I believe it’s the first state Capitol with a Native American placed on top do the dome.

Came here on a rainy Tuesday and throughly enjoyed the renovation. From the tunnel from the parking lot, to the amazing art work and restored interior, this is one of our favorites so far. Happened into a tour group and the docent invited us along. Bonus to learn about the history, the building and the governance of the state.

We took a couple weeks to visit a number of states including several state capitols. This was by far the nicest one we visited. We visited on a Sunday morning in mid October and had the building basically to ourselves to tour. Gorgeous dome and artwork depicting the history of Oklahoma on each level of the building.

Wow! I've been to several State capitals and as a Texan I didn't think this would be all that impressive. I was wrong y'all, they have done an excellent job on the renovations. They have a beautiful modern museum, and wonderful little store and even a small food outlet. I appreciated the seating (with phone plugs) while we were waiting for our tour. The tour was fantastic! The guide, Bill, did a wonderful job answering our questions and explaining the unique ways OK handles it's affairs. The art all over was amazing and we walked around after the tour just to look at it. Overall two thumbs up 👍👍 🤠

Stopped in today to tour the state capitol and pick up route 66 passports for my daughter and her friend. The two gentlemen working the gift shop were phenomenal. They were kind, had plenty of information about what to see there, and even let the girls stamp their own little passports. There was tons of beautiful artwork as well as a small museum inside. It was a great learning experience for the kiddos and a pleasant experience overall!

A beautiful Capitol building, and an incredibly well done memorial. Kudos to the artist for the amazing work! Couldn't have asked for better weather, it was a perfect day. There's plenty of parking here, and it's very easy to walk around to see the art and architecture. Well worth the visit! There are a lot of Pokestops and a few gyms here for the Go players.
